The Portland Tribune will partner with the city's Fox affiliate for newsgathering

Who benefits most? Possibly KPTV.

Topics: Media, Oregon, Portland

The Portland Tribune and KPTV-TV (12, Fox) are partnering on newsgathering, according to memos from both organizations' brass, posted on OregonMediaInsiders.com.

KPTV video will pop up on the Trib Web site, and the Trib will feed goodies to their TV buddies. It might be that Fox gets the better deal, benefiting from the sources of the feisty Trib and its 17 suburban pubs. Video clips will be a nice add-on, but the Trib's busy site feels animated as it is.

Print and broadcast have been sharing for quite some time in metro Puget Sound, where The Seattle Times is linked with KING-TV (5, NBC) and sibling NorthWest Cable News, and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer shares with KOMO-TV (4, ABC).
