Eight-term King County Prosecutor Norm Maleng is dead at 68

A heart attack kills an "old-school" lawyer who held the office for 29 years.

King County, Wash., Prosecutor Norm Maleng, 68, was on the University of Washington campus in Seattle Thursday evening, May 24, when he collapsed. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Maleng, a Republican, was first elected in 1978.
