First Husband-wannabe Bill Clinton is coming to Seattle June 23

Following a rock-star-like appearance by Barack Obama, Elvis re-enters the room. How will the Clinton fundraising machine do here?

Bill Clinton.

It might be necessary to inhale this time.

Bill Clinton is holding a fundraiser for the presidential campaign of Sen. Hillary Clinton in Seattle June 23 at the Westin.
Tickets are $1,000 for a "Team Member," $2,300 for a "Base Builder," and $4,600 for a "Champion."

One of the organizers is Colby Underwood, fundraising consultant for Mayor Greg Nickels and others.

The former president follows a hugely successful appearance last weekend by Barack Obama. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer said Obama "worked the shrieking, whistling crowd like a rock star."

Bill Clinton is becoming an increasingly visible advocate for his wife's campaign. Will anyone be surprised if he, too, works the room like a rock star?

O. Casey Corr is a Seattle writer who has worked for The Seattle Times and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. He now is employed at Seattle University as director of strategic communications. You can e-mail him at casey.corr@crosscut.com.
