An ice cream social and "gelato walk" Thursday (July 15) at Seattle's three Kimpton Hotels will benefit Dress for Success, the non-profit that provides professional attire for disadvantaged women re-entering the workforce.

We're jealous of the Italian custom of the passagiato, that leisurely "Dolce Vita" after-dinner stroll to take the evening air and maybe savor some gelato along the way. Seattleites can recreate this sweet lifestyle Thursday when the three local Kimpton properties — Hotel Vintage Park, Hotel Monaco Seattle, and Alexis Hotel — participate in the company's nationwide Ice Cream Social. The chefs at the three hotel restaurants (Tulio, Sazerac, and the Library Bistro) will each serve a signature sweet flavor, a Scoop for Success, if you will.

Cost is $3 per scoop, cash only.

If you go: Ice cream social and gelato walk, 5-7 pm, Thursday, July 15, in the lobbies of the Vintage Park, Monaco, and Alexis hotels. Hotel Vintage Park, 1100 Fifth Ave. Hotel Monaco Seattle, 1101 Fourth Ave. Alexis Hotel, 1007 First Ave.
