Crosscut Tout: Free George Shangrow Memorial Concert

The concert will be at Benaroya Hall at 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Orchestra Seattle/Seattle Chamber Singers will present a free memorial concert Sunday (Nov. 14) honoring founder George Shangrow, who died this summer in a traffic accident.

The concert will be at 7 p.m. in Benaroya Hall.

The program will include works of Bach, Handel, Haydn, Beethoven, Carol Sams, Huntley Beyer, and Robert Kechley. OSSCS said the selections represent Shangrow's wide-ranging interests and areas of expertise.

Benaroya Hall generously donated both the space and equipment for the concert. Orchestra Seattle/Seattle Chamber Singers is hoping to fill the hall but typically has audiences considerably smaller than Benaroya holds.

If you go: Orchestra Seattle/Seattle Chamber Singers' George Shangrow Memorial Concert, 7 p.m., Sunday (Nov. 14), Benaroya Hall, 200 University St. Free, no ticket required.
