Photos: Macklemore’s ‘top secret’ Capitol Hill rooftop performance

Rumors began flying Wednesday around Capitol Hill when news that Broadway would be closed for several hours that night surfaced. Could it be that Seattle's favorite hip-hop artist, the one so tied to his city, was planning to film his next video atop the roof of Dick's Burgers? (Sadly) Chief Sealth himself couldn't have organized a more buzzed-about appearance. 

And so it was. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis took the "stage" around midnight …

to the tune of about 2,000 screaming fans. 

Twitter cleverly dubbed it #macklemob.
