Thanks to all of you, our most awesome members.

I'll admit it was a little touch and go there at the end, but we made it. We hit the ambitious $45,000 goal we set for our Fall Member Drive. That's a record here at Crosscut. And we have you, our most generous members, to thank. So, welcome to all our first-time members. Welcome back to all our renewing members. High fives all around!

A few special shout outs are in order: To our wonderful Crosscut board members. To Art Thiel and Steve Scher and Washington State University President Elson S. Floyd and Crosscut board president Brad Bagshaw for their inspiring testimonials. To our Grand Prize contributors: Hotel Max, Tom Douglas's Dahlia Lounge, the 5th Ave. Theatre, Town Hall Seattle and Seattle Art Museum.

I'd like to buy you all a beer, give you all a hug, somehow convey how important it is to know that you're behind us. But the best way to show our appreciation is to give you your money's worth by doing the best possible job of reporting the news — accurately, in a timely fashion and with insight and a little style.

We're on it.
