I remain convinced that the prior all volunteer board had good cause to look at change at the highest level of the paid staff. That they were unable to make such change probably just means that it is too late, a volunteer board will not be equipped to overcome the ...

Chuck Ayers may have a long history with Cascade, but speaking as a relatively new member, I find his decision to fight the board no matter the merits of his argument to be incredibly destructive. Now, we have a core of personally committed members doing all they can to rearrange ...

When self-described "environmentalists" are clearly more interested in installing a wedge against this project, rather than actual mitigation of a worthy civic works in an urban setting, why would supports engage in such a false discussion? So there can be a claim of advancement of a Utopian post-automobile fantasy? The ...

Yeah, just a bit of condensation towards ebike riders. Not even mentioned in the above essay, just more prompting to embrace athleticism. My ebike has worked out really well, I am far more inclined to hop on my ebike to get to work, rather than my car, than I ever ...

As a daily I-90 commuter, all I ask is that single occupancy vehicles destined for Mercer Island and using the express lanes pay any toll five-fold. Mercer Island high-jacked the construction of I-90 and forced it to be (at the time) the most expensive bit of freeway per mile ever ...

For some reason the editors really seem to prefer The Seattle Times (cited more frequently than the better Seattle P.I. in Clicker). David Horsey still works for the P.I. The link, http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/davidhorsey/archives/153463.asp, correctly goes to the Seattle P.I., but for some reason the link is labeled "Seattle Times".

RE: Stilll waiting for Jenkins and Postman to post their Tax returns: Why should he do that? It would be off topic and a sideshow to see just what kind of meager living one can expect from writing. The topic is who a candidate for public office, the highest public ...

RE: Stalker?: Actually, the tag "GILF" is a whole major theme in the linked web site, look at the menu banner. It's kind of gross. Looking forward, to the future and all that, conservatives should dump a lot of that stuff, it isn't funny. Why such an emphasis on her ...

Stalker?: What is it with you and Gov. Sarah Palin, and your repeated mentions of her fifth child? What is your point, that conservatives might out-breed liberals? In this comment here you make a point of linking to two images, one of which has the acronym "GILF" prominantly featured (for ...

Software not like government: When developing software, often it is the case that when you screw up, you're only a three finger salute (ctrl-alt-del) away from getting back to where you were. Not so when it comes to the services we expect and need from government. The so-called libertarians that ...

Ref Paynter, 6/21/2007: Tiny Freeman, that's where I thought you were going when I started to read this. Nice picture of him in the Paynter article this summer, just like I remember from decades ago. The article said he was back in Seattle, anyone know how he's doing? Greg Palmer?

What's the problem?: So the streetcar is moving away from the Boxster, right? The Boxster driver is just tucking it in a bit close, but as long as the streetcar isn't likely to back up, what's the problem? I agree that the picture invokes an image that will be very ...

RE: 50 measly miles: The 1990 sinking of the I-90 bridge is absolutely not relevant - that happened due to poorly managed construction. The bridge had been peeled open at the time and was not in service. Hatches were left open while a large storm was coming. The new bridge ...
