An update on this story. Microsoft sees an competitive advantage in raising fears about Gmail and privacy. No, I do get it.: I understand the distinctions between special purpose funds and general purpose funds. Here, they found a way to raise new money for a new service. That's the point.

A revised reference to that Burgess client in his past: I revised the brief reference to Tim Burgess' controversial association with a former client, Concerned Women for America. My earlier description was far too vague and gave no hint why it's been controversial.
