Jack Lewis deployed to Iraq in late 2004 with a detachment of Army Reserve soldiers in the 361st Psychological Operations Company. His scribbling experience includes a couple of hundred news and opinion pieces in small newspapers, for which he received a Society of Professional Journalists editorial writing award and the Darrell Bob Houston Journalism Prize.
