True, the author doesn't really deal with gas taxes. Why not just put $1 more of tax per gallon of gas? That would buy ~$300 billion worth of infrastructure projects, as well as incentive behaviors, and be a lot simpler to implement and manage than P3s.

RE: phemeral libraries: I agree the feel of the new buildings is very different. The new buildings don't feel less permanent to me, rather more open. However, I suspect the style has more to do with construction budgets than a statement about modernity or impermanence. The Libraries for All levy ...

Puppetry for adults: Thanks. I hadn't ever thought of NW Puppet Theater as adult entertainment. My kids go there pretty regularly through school or family outings.

strange comments: The trolls are reading this weekend, apparently. This history lesson is obviously a challenge to the current citizens of Seattle to arise from apathy and participate for effective government. Anyone want to run for school board?
