Shouting vile words is one thing. Threatening President Obama's life, as some Tea Baggers have done, is another. There is a line here and some of these people have crossed it.

But, if someone HAS paid and then stops paying, you can give them the paper for free and still count the subscription as paid for six months. At least, that used to be the rule.

Seattle Times circulation grows on P-I's demise

Posted Mon, Oct 26, 3:39 p.m.

Posted Sat, Apr 14, 8:37 p.m.

RE: Hearst can't lose: Sorry, but you're wrong. The Times will make sure Hearst doesn't see a dime in profit. Just ask Tony Ridder. He complained for years that his 49.5% ownership of the Times produced little for him.

Woe is the future of newspapers – not

Posted Tue, Apr 10, 2:27 p.m.

Well, yes but ...: The P-I and Times sites have lots of traffic but not much revenue ... yet. Certainly not enough revenue to support the newsrooms that generate the content that make the sites popular. Some day it will happen. And some day, you'll probably be paying for all ...
