Did any refs really know what time was left for Huskies?

Posted Sun, Mar 20, 6:04 p.m.

We remain the curious call capital of big-time national sports, and readily disposable cannon-fodder for (somehow?) more deserving regions of the country.

With Locker stuck in the pocket, Huskies lose to BYU

Posted Sun, Sep 5, 3:10 p.m.

The good news for Locker being, nobody outside of Provo will ever witness this uninspired performance. Thanks to CBS college sports network, it's like it never happened. More good news, the Dawgs played a really crummy, mistake-filled game, and were still driving to win thing at the end. Horrible teams ...

Are passenger-only ferries on the way back?

Posted Wed, Aug 18, 1:38 a.m.

Consider it like light rail, with higher operating costs, but that balanced against VASTLY lower start-up expenses, and near infinite routing flexibility. It's a darn pleasant way to commute, too.

A coming train wreck for transit

Posted Wed, Aug 18, 1:24 a.m.

We didn't `throw transit away'. Light rail transit was bought up by GM and destroyed, back in the 50s, as a way to sell cars, gasoline and suburbs. It was stolen from us, basically.

The UW prez now examines Ty Willingham's 11-25 record

Posted Sun, Dec 2, 10:14 p.m.

Neuweasel doodoo: That's what Ty sank neck deep in when he first got here. As promised, he dutifully gooped all the poop outta the coop. Even Hercules would've let out a low whistle of admiration. But Husky fans? Well, now that Montlake is all spic n' span again, they're whining ...

An ordinary, average, mediocre sports town

Posted Mon, Nov 26, 1:52 p.m.

Hasselbecks dry heaves: Did you see that Matt Hasselbeck spent half an hour in the shower dry heaving after the game? A natural reaction to spending the better part of three hours running in fear of your life, while trying to carry a team on your back.

The Seahawks don't blow it

Posted Tue, Nov 13, 2:23 p.m.

Modest proposal: Trying to figure out how an offensive line can pass block so well, yet run block so poorly. To a man they look far more comfortable working in reverse gear. So maybe they should try lining up backwards on running plays? The snap might be a little awkward, ...

Coach Mike Holmgren surrenders in Pittsburgh

Posted Tue, Oct 9, 3:51 a.m.

Hasselbeck all a-twitter: This game was about an over-amped Matt Hasselbeck trying to lift the team onto his shoulders and carry it singlehandedly to a glorious redeemptive victory. And failing miserably. The interesting question being, `How much of that is Holmgrens doing?' This was a game, and a Pittsburgh defense, ...

M's, their fans, and the media are bullish on their postseason prospects, but it may just be bull

Posted Wed, Aug 15, 11:16 a.m.

It's all starting pitching: Despite all the high-test bats and bullpen theatricals, the thing I've most enjoyed watching this season has been a rather pedestrian starting staff working their underwhelming asses off. I'm talking about Weaver, Felix, Batista and Washburn. Horroracia Ramierez, alas, does not yet qualify for his share ...

The Richie Sexson problem

Posted Sun, Jul 22, 10:06 p.m.

RE: If we traded him, guess what will happen next?: Dude, have you WATCHED Richie Sexson this year? Olive Oyl is more likely to hit 40 jacks, and she's a skinny girl toon. Richie hasn't squared up four balls this entire month. Right now, he couldn't hit a hanging slider ...
