It's not just the tactics that are offensive, it's the lack of disclosure. I'd like to know what percentage of money raised goes to the organizations and what goes to the fundraisers. As for me, when solicitors try to stop me on the street, I smile and just keep walking.

@lorenbliss, perhaps people are against transit because it is not cost-effective in a region like ours which is nicely served by buses at a much lower cost. Bus rapid-transit could have been completed at a fraction of the cost, extended to serve many more neighborhoods, and stop at more stations. ...

As a pedestrian who has nearly been run over a number of times on the Burke Gilman and other pedestrian/bicycle trails, I have developed a suspicion of and hostility towards bikers. Before we start creating more bike lanes or trails, I'd like to see some civility developed. How about handing ...
