David, When you are speaking about Theater, do not use the generic term "arts". You are talking about the performing arts which consume the lion's share of funding both private and government. The Visual Arts suffer from the misdeeds and hubris of Seattle's bloated performing arts cabal. I am tired ...

You were quite right to point out the realities of funding for each proposal. The big Dale museum and KEXP seem to be the only viable options. I think radio is a bigger draw than what you may think and am rooting for KEXP!

I did not attend this years event. ArtsFund's process for applying for grants is more complicated than the NEA by some distance. Even mid-size non-profits like 911 Media Arts Center find it takes more staff time than what the grant is worth. "The elephant in the room was hard times ...
