Lady Be Good, I think your plan would work but who wants to wait 35 years for results. We need leadership, focused leadership.... not past practices. I'll retract my crap and cow poop words. You're logic is 1979 style, we're in 2009. Now you've been enlightened please get with it ...

The Van Dik story is an editorial, and should be labeled as such. He is stating his opinion, not objective reporting. His quotes are just that, "his" quotes. Please don't get angry with me, I'm trying to inspire proper journalism here. To native Americans Brittanicus is an illegal alien.

David and Crosscut folks.... see what happens when you publish Ted Van Dik crap? You inspire more crap like the two comments above. Van Dik, Lady Be Good, and Brittanicus all need a attitude adjustment. I guess they're entitled to their opinion... even though their opinion is full of cow ...

Chinook was the primary language of tribes from this area. I could compromise on this.... I think Puget Whulge is perfect! We would not have to explain what Sound means. Reclaiming our past traditional names is best. That movement can begin NOW!

I never appreciated Mt. Rainier, my family has always called it Tahoma, meaning above everything...there was a biblical translation meaning "next to heaven." The Nisquallys thought heaven was where we are. By the way, Rainier is not correct either.... the mans name was Peter Riegnier some how that was changed ...

Stories of this nature are not news. The story is not even well written. Who cares her paper was not delivered and her "toaster waffle is toasted with fresh berries?" Not I. I've noticed a change at Crosscut now that Chuck Taylor is on "leave?" The story selection is borderline ...

I worked at the Times during the 1980's and 90's. Davis, Wright were the Times attorney's. Nearly every week I was at the firm, or in Cam's office. Cam was professional, always happy, a true inspiration. He had no idea how he helped shape my life. Gawd, life is too ...

Sad Times for a sad Times: Yes, the information highway delt a serious blow to newspapers, ditto the byproducts of printing (paper manufacturing, ink, transportation). I hope things are "a changing": My three year (2002-5) experience in the p-patch program was sadly memorable. I joined the p-patch to be part of the program, I contributed double or triple time than the required 8 hours per year. After three years I gave up my plot because ...

A first....: Finally, an admission by Times management, the newspaper strike of 2000-01 AND fighting the P-I over the JOA contributed to losses in Times revenue.
