I think you're right that it is important to let people in Seattle know that the work being done in our community is having a tremendous impact to prevent people from becoming homeless and to help them stabilize their lives. This message needs to continue getting out, so that people ...

Official homeless counts did go up substantially in 2009 compared to 2008, so it really is important to know that the demand for homeless services and housing is very real and critical for our vulnerable families and individuals.

This is an important program -- we need more support like this for people who have been homeless. Most people who are experiencing homeless do want to find work and stabilize their lives.

Judy, thank you for covering this important topic. The passage of the housing levy shows that Seattle voters believe ending homelessness is important. Of course, this is just one of many steps that we need to take as a city, county, and state.

Any idea why UW did not switch to zone defense? Georgetown has struggled against zone this year (v. Temple) and in the past few years.
