Posted Mon, Jul 25, 10:10 p.m.

The city of Seattle caved in to big oil, big auto (bus) maker and big rubber (the tires) back in late 30s and early 40's. Almost all of the now bus routes in Seattle were once street car lines. The street car company had its power plants and sold the ...

Seattle is shedding diversity; the state's minority populations grow

Posted Sat, Apr 30, 11:38 a.m.

Seattle is simply too expensive to live in unless you are very affluent or very poor at which case you would have a lot of your living expenses subsidized. My partner and I own a small home and combined we make 65K per year. We are examining whether its still ...

How the Muni League's hidden bias got Seattle into its current state

Oregon envy: Can a Seattleite turn green wishing to be there?

Posted Sun, Feb 7, 12:31 a.m.

Oregon is a economic backwater. A good place to live if you work for a non-profit or off the government teet. If you want to work in the private sector, go across the Columbia or head to the mountain states.

Pointing out Mr. Hahn's age is irrelevant, no more so than pointing out the McGinn is fat. Both of them could kick off at any time. Ms. Crunican may have a showhorse resume but it sound like Mr. Hahn is more of a workhorse. As city resident's we all want ...

Will the book survive?

Posted Wed, Jan 6, 9:58 a.m.

I will stick with printed books. For portability, I don't have to recharge a machine, I can read them during the landing and takeoffs of flights, I can share them with friends, they are made from recycled paper, books are more intimate. Johann Gutenberg vs. Amazon-I will take Gutenberg
