It's a quote, and to delete, disquise, or otherwise replace a word is to mischarachterize the person being quoted. Maybe Fairview Fanny's reporting is more accurate these days.

The statue of "The Kiss" is actually a plastic reproduction of a sculpture by John Seward Johnson II on tour around the world. It will be in Civitavecchia through this month. It is called "Unconditional Surrender."

So, was the "brilliant" Larry Summers contemplating that quote when he did his part in creating the bubble? I can think of several, more apt, adjectives to describe him--many from the Urban Dictionary.

How much time has Mr. Hinshaw spent at Elliott Bay or Myrtle Edwards parks? With the exception of Hempfest, even on the most beautiful day or summer evening, the crowds at these two waterfront parks look nothing like Greenlake on a gray day. Plenty of space there to connect to ...

Finally something fair, balanced, and well researched on the tunnel fiasco from Crosscut!

What is it about the Royers and Brewsters? They just don't get it. The taxpayers don't want the tunnel. Isn't it obvious? The fat cats, those who own real estate along the waterfront--and those in their pockets--want the tunnel. The city council is inept and out of touch with the ...

Brewster will say anything to support the tunnel. "It was one more comical turn of the 10-year plot, with a solomonic judge wanting to let voters have their say but limiting their say to a meaningless technicality that has nothing to do with the merits of the tunnel." The taxpayers ...

Time to recall the City Council. Why wait to vote them out next time around? Is this a democracy, or an autocracy?

NickBob is right on point. Brewster is becoming a mouthpiece for the Tunnellers. He should get in touch with the citizenry and get his fingers on the pulse. Otherwise, let him pledge his fortune to cover the overruns--Money, mouth.

Right on NickBob and Keith. I've haven't heard reference to the "bridge" solution since your letter to the editor several years ago. Is that because it truly is viable? I voted for McGinn because he was opposed to the tunnel, and the inevitable red ink. And how is it that ...

It's going to be her legacy all right. Fiscal disaster when the inevitable cost overruns destroy the Seattle taxpayer. Why do we need a park along that section of waterfront? Take a walk in either Elliott Bay Park or Myrtle Edwards Park at any time of day and it's comfortably ...

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts. I love Cross Cut, but it is in bad need of an editor and a fact checker. Brewster--you can't do it on your own!

Failure of Leadership: Hey, kids have unprotected, uneducated sex; some of them get pregnant. But in a family, especially an Evangelist family, teenage pregnancy is a Failure of Leadership.
