This piece is your best so far this year. Inspiring to think of a sea-change. Wouldn't it be something to be more global, less parochial. But ---- let's not make it the reason to destroy our neighborhoods and environment.

Great piece. I have just started rereading bios of women journalists for inspiration, especially as the country is going retro and putting women backward with their civil rights. Anyway -- well written and researched. I'm impressed.

Mr. Secretary -- Great piece complete with data. Notice the photo to this article shows a woman on a bike. Do you know how few women ride bikes in this town? How few African Americans? (A TV Comedy line was -- "Have you ever seen a brother on a bike?") ...

Imagine that - suggesting that candidates should be evaluated for their revolutionary potential!? I for one am very happy that the Muni League is actually making evaluations that help lay people decipher all the BS - will they run amuck with the treasury? Our taxes? The facilities and programs in ...

By the way, aren't we coming up to the 10-year anniversary of the Nisqually earthquake in 2011? Ten years of indecision with safety looming, on top of the 30-plus years of urban design debate -- we could shut the viaduct down and create the Highline greening of the current structure...great ...

Slings & Arrows: Watching the debate between Art Skolnik and Karen Gordon reminds me of the line by a pundit who said if she gave-up one ball, then they would both have two. The Preservation Officer is one of the few world-class talents in the cultural community who Seattle has ...
