It's a tradition in our family to give each other wall calendars every Christmas. Last year, my husband gave me The Out of Office Countdown calendar for 2008. It features President George W. Bush and is good through Inauguration Day on Jan. 20, 2009. I doubt if it's hanging in the White House.
If I had my holiday act together this past December, I would have gifted my hubby the Sarah Palin 2009 calendar by Alaska photographer Judy Patrick. The 13-month calendar features more than 50 photographs of Gov. Palin and her family, including "never before seen photos"; high quality gloss paper; pre-drilled hole for hanging; and cellophane wrapping. All produced and printed in the USA. One of the photos of Sister Sarah shows her smiling widely in front of Old Glory with a rifle slung over her shoulder.
MSNBC reported in early January that the Sarah Palin calendar was at the top of Amazon.com's office supplies list. Well, Sister Sarah is slip, slidin' away. I went on Amazon's website and the former Republican vice-presidential candidate has plummeted to No. 31. The current top-selling wall calendars are Wonders of the World, Hubble Space Telescope, Salut! Vintage Posters, Dilbert, Mega-Grid, Charles Wysocki Americana, Out on the Porch, Maxfield Parrish, Puppies and Tuscany. At least she beat out Animals That Will Kill Yo A$$ and The Big Breast Calendar.Calendars, schmalendars. Gov. Palin should stick with what she does best: videos. Her latest candid comments on "media malpractice" can be seen in a documentary by filmmaker John Ziegler, available for viewing on the How Obama Got Elected website.

Like most so-called reporters, you have your facts wrong. The Palin calendar is still #1 at Amazon. You must have figured no one would bother looking. By the way, that's not a rifle she has over her shoulder, it's a 12 ga. shotgun. I guess that is what you get when you depend on MSNBC for your information. You probably wrote this pathetic piece taking cheap shots as someone who is better than you, knowing that Google Alerts would pick it up, and you would having something you wrote actually read by the two fans you proably have.

Well, when I checked on Amazon.com her calendar was #31. Maybe I need to refresh my page on my MacBook. You're right, I'm not up on my NRA stuff, I should have consulted my gun-totin' buddy with the gun rack in his pick-up. Funny, but I never really thought of Sue Frause being better than Sister Sarah or vice versa. We'd probably have a high 'ol time in Wasilla. By the way, I don't call myself a reporter. I'm a freelance writer and photographer, and have been so/such for the past 20 years. And my P-I blog has around 12,000 page views a month. Life is good both on and off the rock. Even with caustic comments. Toodles.

OK. So I've had a few personal emails from folks who didn't wanna post comments. Turns out I was reading the wrong "stats" on Amazon ... Yes, the calendar is still #1 in Office Products at Amazon. I was looking at the WALL CALENDARS list, and somehow was not reading the POPULARITY stats, but RELATIVITY stats. Sarah Palin's wall calendar, in terms of RELATIVITY at Amazon (does Jeff Bezos decide that?), is now #32. But she's #1 in Popularity for both Wall Calendars and Office Products. The person who informed me about my blunder also said I was an idiot, so that made my night. Another personal email said:
"The Sarah Palin Calendar is #1 in Office Products in Amazon. Don't know about overall calendars. Tell the other commenter I am not sure they are right on the shotgun. I am not sure that it is not a 10 gauge instead of a 12 gauge (with the Big Game they have in Alaska, a 10 gauge is probably the prefereed shotgun anyway). See, you can impress them with some knowledge now. The more you talk to people the more you learn."
Yup, the more you know.
PS: But my favorite comment is from a Facebook friend who said: "Nice response to the guy (or woman) who responded to your blog, Sue. It's like when the right wing media gets on Jon Stewart's case...."We're a COMEDY show, for god's sake!"
Lighten up folks, it's just a flippin' calendar.

Hi Sue!
Normally I like to start talking to folks I have never met on a brighter note. But I have serious issue with your reporting on Governor Sarah Palin's calender. Not only is her calender STILL number one. But her calender is the best selling OFFICE PRODUCT, period!(not just calender)
Amazon updates their listings hourly.
I see you used MSNBC as a source for your information. After cracking a rib in laughter, I have to say you certainly picked a winning source there!
MSNBC has continually lied about Governor Palin. It's phenomenal. Of course, they are in LOVE with Obama. Probably has something to do with the fact that NBC's parent company General Electric stands to make billions in profits off the "green" agenda, since they build wind turbines and solar panels, and unless the government shove those things down the citizen's throats, they are never going to sell a whole bunch of them.
Anyway, back to the point. The Sarah Palin calender, as of 12:00am Sunday morning, January 11th, 2009 is still the number one OFFICE PRODUCT on Amazon.com:

And I don't expect you to be a fire arms expert. Governor Palin is. But you should really learn the difference between a rifle, and a shot gun! Here's some help, rifles don't break down to load them.
Here's some cool video of Governor Palin when she visited the troops in Kuwait in 2007 (way before she was picked for VP) She is at a weapons training center checking out some new stuff. The sound is not the best, but at the end you'll hear them comment on her dead on proficiency.

Sue, I don't know you, and hate to start out on such a tough note. But because your blog entry is so completely wrong, as in not a fact to be found anywhere in the entry, except the fact that Amazon is indeed selling the calender, I must strongly insist that you print and publicize a corrected blog entry, as well as make sure that any other blog you posted this in, and any print edition that your writings appear in, do indeed print the correct facts about Governor Palin.
Also, in the future, could you please go to THE source for information, rather than use a complete unreliable and unprofessional news source as MSNBC.
Thank you and
Kindest regards,
Gary P Jackson

Thanks, Mr. Jackson. I think our responses crossed in cyberspace, and I did admit my "error" and made a "correction." As an aside, the last time I used any type of "gun" was shooting clay pigeons on the Isle of Lana'i in Hawaii. I think I was awarded some glass pineapple as I was such a sharpshooter. Just call me Annie Oakley. Dang, maybe I'll run for VP!

Regardless of calendar sales, Sarah Palin has been taken out (politically speaking) successfully. It is certainly one of the prouder accomplishments of the liberal left. Lefties must be especially proud of how they trashed Sarah via Bristol Palin, Bristol's boyfriend's mom, etc.
Hopefully the tactic will not come back to bite, via Obama's illegal-alien relations in public housing in MA. It probably won't, since they can just cry RACISM if anyone even tries. Luckily, that would never work for the Palins, Scott's Inuit heritage notwithstanding. LOL.

good grief, olga! there sure are a lot of humorless, angry folks out there. keep reminding them of that, darling. maybe someday they'll learn to enjoy life.

Palin's political work isn't done yet. She still has to win the 2012 Republican nomination and then lose the election to Obama by the largest landslide in history, further demonstrating what a joke the GOP has become.
After that, she'll stay connected with her voter base by fighting cage matches for the World Wrestling Federation.

I'm still waiting for Carolyn Kennedy to get the Palin treatment from the press. It will be a long wait. After all, Kennedys (Kennedies?) are genetically endowed with a right to serve in government, no matter how air-headed they may be. At least Palin, besides having a record in government, votes every once in a while. That's more than Kennedy can, um, youknow, say.

Well, the press studiously ignored Biden's many gaffes. His false claims about his academic background, his plagiarism, his claim of having invented the patriot act, his stingy charitable contributions, his racially-charged comments, his ties to MNBA, etc.--all were glossed over as just 'Joe being Joe.'
Why would not the press follow the same playbook with Caroline?

"I'm still waiting for Carolyn Kennedy to get the Palin treatment from the press"
As soon as Kennedy is added to the ticket as VP, starts spouting childish nonsense about US-Russian foreign policy, can't name a single newspaper she has read, preaches abstinence to the rest of us while her own litter multiplies, accuses the president elect of being a terrorist, shoots animals for sport, and marries her daughter into a family of drug dealers (speaking of which, shouldn't they have set a wedding date by now?), then she will get the "Palin treatment".
