As Brad Shannon of The Olympian reports, the state Office of the Attorney General has issued a statement that says it is considering the use of outside counsel should it decide to go to court against the Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW). But the agency also notes that there is a long tradition of attorneys general rising above partisanship to enforce the state's campaign laws. You will recall that the state Public Disclosure Commission has found that the BIAW unlawfully failed to register as a political action committee in its multimillion-dollar campaign to oust Gregoire.
