Oyster authority Rowan Jacobsen talks about his new book at the Palace Ballroom tonight.

Rowan Jacobsen, the oyster authority, will read from his new book, "American Terroir: Savoring the Flavors of Our Woods, Waters, and Fields)  tonight (Sept. 21) at 7 p.m. in the Palace Ballroom. The tickets (at the door) include oysters, appetizers, chocolates, and a glass of wine.

He also will appear at 7 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 23) at the University Book Store in the University District, 4326 University Way NE.

If you go: 7 p.m., Sept. 21, Palace Ballroom, 2100 5th Ave. (5th and Lenora), $25.
