Crosscut's membership drive is vital to providing good online journalism, from an independent, nonpartisan, and nonprofit perspective. The drive can also be a bit of fun.

Our winner of a new Kindle from those joining or renewing as members last week was John Reiher. The weekly drawing also produced a pair of theater tickets for three different members, Kieth and Anna Nissen, Peter LeSourd, and David and Marcia McCracken.

Those renewing or joining this week (by 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2) will be eligible for a chance to win a Kindle.

Crosscut is also offering a variety of daily specials for members who sign up. Those joining or renewing today (Sept. 28) will have a chance to win a pair of tickets to the Seattle Art Museum's upcoming exhibit, "Picasso: Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris." The widely awaited exhibit opens Oct. 8 and will run through Jan. 17.

We are grateful for the support of so many members and eager to continue improvements to our coverage of the Seattle area and the Pacific Northwest. Please take a moment to consider joining the community of those supporting independent online journalism in the region now, while we are trying to make it a little more attractive than normal.

Please support independent local news for all.

We rely on donations from readers like you to sustain Crosscut's in-depth reporting on issues critical to the PNW.
