Ending the year on a positive note, passing out one last prize, and onward to new plans for 2012.

I'm grateful and happy to announce that we have met our goal, thanks to a nice surge of last-day donations. (Who says America's tax policy doesn't work well??) Thank you all very much, new Members and renewing or upgrading Members. I hope to meet many of you at a Crosscut Members event soon.

We have a winner of our last-day drawing. Russell McDuff of Snohomish wins two tickets to the Seattle Wine and Food Experience, coming up at Seattle Center on Feb. 26. Thanks to the many organizations that donated tickets and gift certificates to help us in this drive.

We have exciting plans for the coming year, and your donations have helped give us a good boost toward realizing them. It's gratifying to have so many donating Members, and I appreciate the words of encouragement many of you sent, saying how Crosscut has become an important part of your life, and our joint civic lives together. Thank you for helping us end 2011 on such a positive note.
