Updated: New numbers show Slatter has advantage in Bellevue race

Updated August 8th, 4:30 p.m.: King County released new election tallies late this afternoon. The most recent numbers are below.

In the race for Bellevue City Council position No. 6, Vandana Slatter gained a little wiggle-room on Don Davidson for the second-place spot. The race is still tight, but after entering today with only 88 votes separating them, Slatter now has a 207 vote cushion.

August 7th, 5:12 p.m.: King County released new election tallies late this afternoon.

The results confirmed the leads of Ed Murray and Mike McGinn in the Seattle mayor's race. Murray holds 30.2 percent of the vote to McGinn's 27.5 percent. The lack of a significant surge for either of their two top opponents, Peter Steinbrueck and Bruce Harrell, removes any doubt that Murray and McGinn will face off in November.

In Bellevue, a city council race tightened up, with incumbent Don Davidson gaining several dozen votes on the second place candidate, Vandana Slatter. Only 88 votes separate them. One of the two will face top votegetter Lynne Robinson.

The county will release updated tallies until certifying the final results on Aug. 20.
