A big money housing levy and a proposed park on the Alaskan Way viaduct were before Seattle voters on primary election night. KCTS 9’s Enrique Cerna and political analyst Joni Balter explain why voters gave a big thumbs up to one and an even bigger thumbs down to the other.

Also in the first of two videos, they take a look at a monster money measure that will be before the voters in November.

In the second video, Cerna and Balter break down the voting results in 7th Congressional District primary and the major statewide races.

What were the surprises and what should voters look for heading to the November general election?

Note that the video was recorded before Friday's vote counting led King County Councilmember Joe McDermott to concede.

So, state Sen. Pramila Jayapal and state Rep. Brady Pinero Walkinshaw — both Democrats — will face off for the congressional seat in the November election.
