KCTS 9 is partnering with national nonprofit StoryCorps and the PBS series American Experience to record, uplift and archive our nation's stories, about racial desegregation and educational equity efforts in American schools, as told by affected individuals, administrators, and community members. And we at KCTS 9 and Crosscut invite you to take part!

We’re looking for members of our community to share their experiences with school desegregation. Here's how it works: You bring someone important in your life with you to the KCTS 9 studio in Seattle. Then, the two of you discuss your experience with school desegregation during a 40-minute conversation and, with your permission, your conversation gets archived at the Library of Congress.

A StoryCorps recording is a unique opportunity to document history for future generations. Honor someone and invite them to share this experience with you — a community member, a loved one, a friend, or a mentor.

Desegregation

StoryCorps and American Experience will be recording these conversations at the KCTS 9 studio in May. If you are interested in sharing your story, please contact Diane at member station WGBH as soon as possible.

Please note: All participants must wear a mask during their StoryCorps and American Experience session.
