Alan Burke, Ed.D, currently is the executive director of the Washington State School Retirees’ Association (WSSRA—representing 17,500 retired educators in the state). Prior to that (2014-2016), he served as the executive director of the Washington State School Directors Association (WSSDA), the organization that supports and advocates for Washington’s 1477 elected school board members. He also was a member of the State Board of Education from 2017-2019.
