Danni Askini (they/them) is the founder and executive director of Gender Justice League Seattle and the former policy director of Basic Rights Oregon. For 25 years Danni has been at the forefront of advancing the rights of two-spirit, trans, and gender-diverse people through law, policy and culture change. Danni was the first openly Trans candidate for office in Washington state, and has worked extensively to address gender-based violence and expand insurance coverage of gender-affirming care. They has worked in over 32 state legislatures with LGBTQIA+ youth to advance their rights and safety. Danni currently splits their time between Washington, D.C., and Seattle as they works to expand Gender Justice League's work nationally.
