Peter Kafka is a senior correspondent at Vox, and host of the podcast Recode Media. At Vox, Peter covers the intersection of media and technology, writing about everything from streaming TV to fights between the most powerful companies in the world to puzzling trends that may or may not be the future. He’s also author of the weekly newsletter Kafka on Media, where he decodes the biggest news in the tech and media worlds. Peter has been covering media and technology since 1997, when he joined the staff of Forbes magazine. In 2007, Peter became the first hire at Silicon Alley Insider, the predecessor to Business Insider, where he worked as the site’s managing editor. He began writing for AllThingsD.com in 2008, and joined Vox Media via the company’s acquisition of Recode. Peter is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and lives in Brooklyn.
