We ask one question per week and you, Pacific Northwest students, submit answers. The result? A weekly dose of the Washington students' perspective.

We ask one question per week and you, Pacific Northwest students, submit answers. The result? A weekly dose of the Washington students' perspective.

If you’re a student in the Pacific Northwest, you’ll be thrilled to know that our Student Voice column is back. We want to know what you think about Northwest news and current events, and our weekly Student Voice column is a way for you to share your deep thoughts — and get them published!

Starting today, we will post one question each week on politics, art, technology, environment, education, pretty much anything.

Here’s this week’s question:

The State Legislature is back in session and we want to get your take on priorities in Olympia. What should be the number one concern for state lawmakers this year? Why is this issue important to you as a student in Washington State?

Here’s a cheat sheet of what we think are the hottest legislative topics. Are there any we missed? Let us know!

When you’re ready to submit your (well-crafted, two-paragraphs max) op-ed, just follow this link.

Deadline for submission will be midnight on Wednesday, January 28th. Remember: two paragraphs please.

We look forward to reading your responses!
